SA is the closest campground to Six Flags and many local attractions. Close to the Rails to Trails bike and walking path, Southwick Acres has several beautiful tent sites for the active back to nature camper with a clean and modern bathhouse only a short walk away.

Mark Twain House & Museum

The Mark Twain House & Museum has restored the author's Hartford, Connecticut, home, where the author and his family lived from 1874 to 1891. Twain wrote his most important works during the years he lived there, including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. In addition to providing tours of Twain's restored home, a National Historic Landmark, the institution offers activities and educational programs that illuminate Twain's literary legacy and provide information about his life and times.

Valley Falls Park

A gently rising terrain with light to moderate obstacles, this park has something for everyone. Hiking, running, bird watching and snowshoeing and cross country skiing are popular activities. There are many hiking trails. Ones that pass through ruins of textile mills and an old trout breeding farm, to trails that snake through the wetlands and meadows.
