1. Bear Creek Campground®, Southwest of South Windsor, Connecticut

This is the perfect outdoor getaway for families and offers a wide range of opportunities to make memories, not just on the grounds, but in the area around the city, as well.
While many of their indoor activities have been closed to the public, you can still enjoy time at the Mike Hambleton Memorial Dog Park, the mini golf course, and the playground. You can also drive around the area and visit places like:

5. Thompson’s Lake Campground in Thacher State Park, West of Albany, New York
You may not think of the areas around a busy city like Albany to be home to some great camping destinations, but you might be surprised. Campgrounds like Thompson’s Lake Campground in Thacher State Park are a great place to set up shop and enjoy a long weekend of fun activities.
